Grey Falls is an America Online-based Elfquest fan holt, run by people who are addicted to Wendy and Richard Pini's comic. This is a guide to the elves, humans, trolls, and other things around Grey Falls.

The Grey Falls tribe is a mix of Wolfriders and pureblooded elves; tribe members have some magic or none at all. Magic tends to run towards healing, firemaking, and treeshaping. Life has been extremely hard for the elves, and for the most part, magic is viewed in a functional light. The more useful it is (healing or shaping, for example) the more welcome it's likely to be. The tribe has been through several wars in its recent history which have sadly reduced it from nearly sixty tribemates to less than two dozen. The personalities of the surviving members of the tribe are strongly shaped by these losses.

As a practical matter, bear in mind that this is a "family style" holt with an approximately PG-13 rating. We have had several teenage members, so we usually don't overtly do anything that would embarrass their parents! ("Potted plants" are, nevertheless, frequently working overtime if you know what we mean.)

If you are interested in joining the holt, we suggest you do the following before actively joining in the roleplaying:

• Read the original Elfquest series by Wendy and Richard Pini. At least read the first graphic novels. This will give you the right feel for the kind of world we have created. Our "Abode" has some distinctions of its own -- our elves have learned the pleasurable art of kissing, for example -- but a good reading of the Pini's work will introduce you to Wolfriders, Trolls, Gliders, and the kind of world they live in. • Read the History and Holt Lore pages and the stories on this site. This will help familiarize you with the characters in our holt and with the history of the holt. There are several adoptable characters if you are interested.
